Mushroom picking at Sognsvann (in Norwegian)
Welcome to a beginner friendly mushroom picking trip with Ung sanker around Sognsvann!
On this trip, you’ll learn about several delicious edible mushrooms commonly found in and around Oslo. We’ll be looking for chanterelles, porcini, and hedgehog mushrooms. We’ll also show you the most poisonous mushrooms, which are important to avoid. Mushrooms are a free and excellent way to make everyday meals more exciting when living on a student budget. The big mushroom season in Norway lasts from August to October.

Packing list
- Mushroom basket or paper bags (plastic bags ruin the mushrooms)
- A small knife
- Brush: mushroom brush, stiff toothbrush or paintbrush
- Suitable outdoor clothing
