The Vigeland Museum is the former studio and residence of sculptor Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943). In the museum, you can follow the development of Vigeland’s artistry and gain a unique insight into the history of Vigeland Park. You can also learn more about how the sculptures were made.
The museum features a permanent collection exhibition where you can experience several of the sculptor’s earliest works, his famous monuments and portrait busts, as well as the plaster originals of the iconic works in Vigeland Park in 1:1 scale.
You can also see the exhibition Gustav Vigeland. The Home as a Work of Art, which deals with Vigeland’s interest in design and crafts. In this context, there are daily guided tours of Gustav Vigeland’s artist home, located on the museum’s third floor.
